Hello, and welcome to my page, weary travelers.
So here are my thoughts on the matter, not that anyone should care, really.
Suicide is not as simple a thing as you think... it's not always an attention grab, and it's not a easy and corrupt way of making people like you.
...For some people it's seriously the only option. As dark, sad and frightening as it is, it's not that they don't care about people. They are real people, like you, like me, and someone needs to go out of their way to help them, or they will be lost.
Are most suicides bullshit cries for attention? Maybe. Does that make their intention any less meaningful? I don't think so. Any person that says they are suicidal has a lot to be upset about, even if on the surface it doesn't make much sense.
Suicide is the result of a person who has given up all hope that any other options will ever lead to their happiness, and regardless of whether or not they hurt some-or-everyone else, they feel like they need their suffering to end more.
Some suicides I've met felt worthless to society and to their friends, in a way that was brought about through unnatural expectations placed upon them by their peers and friends, who may not even be aware they're doing it, or furthermore by the great engine of society itself, useful as it is, driving people oftentimes not towards self discovery and personal justice, but instead into the pitfalls of ransoming their passions and having to choose from among things they love which to keep... I've seen firsthand how devastating that can be....
Secondly, I'd like to make a point of saying that people can only take so much pressure. It's easier to die quickly in the name of freedom than suffer slowly at the hands of oppression and self-loathing. Give me a man willing to sign up to be tortured by others without end to live and I will give you twenty more at least who would face the quick death, knowing that they would not come out the other end as themselves.
And being honest, which is worse, seeing your loves one dead....
Or having them be forced into something they're not.... with no hope of ever being the person you cared about again...?
So next time you're considering why people who commit suicide do so, think about any time in your past where you were in a state of constant discomfort... then cut out all of the good in your life and turn the discomfort into never-ending emotional and spiritual pain, the kind that slowly eats away at the soul until there is nothing left.
And remember, it's better to help a thousand people who don't need it than to lose one person you really care about.
....Best of luck to you all.
