Literature Text

Oh my dearest starlit night, or morning, bearing day
Of soft and lazy afternoons, with evening on the way
Whether sun is high or midnight nigh and of all times between
The greatest time, in simple rhyme... is Twilight, that I've seen

Her eyes are violet crystals shaped
The slanting of her mane as draped
The cupped ears and of course her horn
More beautiful an any morn...

Her fur rests softly everywhere
A few shades lighter than her hair
Towards her all I can is smile
In the afternoon a while ...

The shapely form of which I speak
From nose to tip of tail is sleek
And though not taken too much care
Looks lovely in the evening air...

And oh, my breath I dare to bate
As Better still I do relate
As her horn shines with magic light
Enough to turn the darkest night...

All of this together still
With hooves and eyes and magic skill
Has all my love, as in my sight
There lies a unicorn named Twilight.
